i was gonna post this last night but lj was bein a butt...

Pier60Girl: reading in general is a chore for me, whether its for school or the Bible or whatever. i read well i just hate reading.
Pier60Girl: and as my attention span grows worse, so goes my desire to read things.
Pier60Girl: you know how insomnia is caused by college? so is ADD...
Pier60Girl: i don't have ADD (well i probably do but that's not the point lol) but in my PSY 201 class he showed this ADD questionnaire as an example... and i was 19 out of 20 of the items on there haha
Pier60Girl: i think everyone probably has some degree of add
Pier60Girl: there's 2 things i really can't do... read, and write papers
Pier60Girl: and even when i make myself read something like for a test, i have pretty much a 0% retention level
Pier60Girl: i think this can be attributed to a lack of written homework assignments, which proves my theory that ADD is caused by college!

you know I've really started to wonder about ADD. I go back and forth, but I used to believe that ADD was this phenomenon that was all in your head, an excuse for kids that didn't do well in school. A part of me still wants to believe that it's not some sort of chemical imbalance, but that it's become this psychological crutch that kids can lean on and pop pills for. As you mentioned, we all probably have a bit of ADD, but I thought that was simply called immaturity or youth. We all grow up, we have to discipline ourselves to pay attention to the things that we find completely and utterly boring.

I don't know. I'm probably wrong, but I'm not sure if I can believe that everyone diagnosed with ADD actually has it.

My thing is that I don't know if I believe that everyone who isn't diagnosed with ADD doesn't have it. That sounds way too broad now that I think about it. Oh well :)
