best friends

ok i had an entry here before but i deleted it cause i don't have patience and i really am that bored.

here's the deal. i don't have a best friend. i've forgotten what it's like to have a best friend. sometimes i feel like i never really knew. everyone who i've ever called a "best friend" has in some way or another let me down. i don't know what "best friends" means aside from brand new/taking back sunday song lyrics. and i don't think i trust new people enough anymore.

For a while there I felt the same way you did Traci. Sometimes you just need to go with your gut and trust someone with one little thing and see how they act with that one little bit of info. Then you feed them a little more, like testing the waters. That's how I was with Sarah when I first started talking to her. I told her little by little until I realized she really cared about me being happy or having fun or feeling well, and then I just started to tell her everything. After meeting Sarah and the way that Deb has become a closer friend to me because of our similar experiences I know now that I never had a true best friend before last year. So you probably never really had a true best friend, but you had a good friend- but college is the time to go out and find your best friend so try not to worry about it. Just sit back and enjoy the people you have around you right now and you'll soon find someone that you can truly call your best friend...

thanks Kristen! I know that at college we make the friends who are gonna be our friends for the rest of our lives... so maybe it will be one of them! lol :)
