bellapalmeraokay, i was KIDDING in my last entry when i said "goodnight". my intention was to take a little "nappy-nap" (as lu says) and wake up and eventually write in here, but NO! i slept the WHOLE NIGHT THROUGH!!! i got like... 18-19 hours of sleep. and im still kinda tired. i did not wake up even one time until 9:17 am, dude i was OUT!
atlanta was awesome!
i had a really great time. spiritually it will take me a while to look back and tell you *exactly* what i got out of it, but i definitely had lots of fun and got closer to people and stuff. the first couple days i'll probably write the least about but i'm gonna do a day-by-day thingie here. this entry will probably be mad long.
12/28/02 --> Saturday
you don't want to hear about my boring trip to the airport and the plane ride and all that. but my plane landed @ hartsfield i.a. at like 4:30. i stepped off the plane and called angela and she was like "i just stepped off the plane" so it was like we just stepped off the plane at the exact same time. we met at the baggage claim escalator thingie. (except she was at the top and i was at the bottom haha.) then we took the train over to peachtree center (which is next to our hotel) and fortunately when we got off we saw these other kids who were going there, and i knew this because one of them was this kid ross i met on fall break. it turned out that we were like the first people from tampa bay to get there (well, except a couple people, but our big group wasn't there yet). heh, the first person we saw was nathan and the first person we said goodbye to at the end was nathan. weird. anyhoo so i was waiting for a while cause i wanted to room with leland, and she was one of the last tampa-ers to get there. anyway me and angela met these 2 girls named leslie and faith (haha faith's name was misspelled on her name tag... of all the names to misspell at a christian conference!!!) i only saw faith one other time at the conference but i saw leslie a bunch of times. so then the main meeting started and the worship leader guy was named steve fee and he was cool. (and he was hot! haha i think he's married though) him and his band rocked. then our MC paul came out, he was cool too and the main speaker rene was also cool. he was funny haha. after the talk i saw matt and he gave me the biggest hug E-V-E-R, it was great :) then after that i finally registered with leland, lacinda (aka lu for the times im too lazy to type out her whole name haha), and tawnya. there was this girl who looked JUST like tawnya, it was scary. anyway so then i called my parents and they were all rah we're having a heart attack cause you didnt call rah rah and yeah. we also had campus time where we played "will you be my neighbor" and nathan and woods almost killed each other but they were staging it so it was funny. i went to my room after that and we had some girl talk stuff, it was cool roomate bonding time. then i stayed up with some people and tried to play cranium but i was so confused so i just like failed, and then we played rule-less taboo cause by then there were only 5 people --> kris (i forgot where he's from), kat (from tampa), greta (i also forget where she's from), me, and someone else who i just completely don't remember, oh but it was a guy! funny quote from greta: "my eyes are crying!" yeah so that was fun. then i went to bed at like 2.
12/29/02 --> Sunday
i was so freaking exhausted, i don't remember what any of the speakers said at all!!! i remember that we went to lunch for mcdonalds, ok read that and see what i just typed, it's a reflection of how tired i was AND I'M WRITING THIS 4 DAYS LATER!!! haha. we went to MCDONALDS for LUNCH, i got chicken nuggets and a vanilla shake. roddy got 3 cheeseburgers!!! and a drink and a shake. dude, he's one of the smaller guys but he could probably out-eat anyone. and he has FAKE shoes hahahahaha :) anyhoo, then i went to a seminar (i'd gone to one that morning too) and i was like dude if i go to another after this i will fall asleep during it so i just went to my room and went to bed cause they were having the one i wanted to go to again on tuesday so i went on tuesday. anyway what did we do for dinner... oh yeah! we went to steak + shake. it was fun, except the service royally sucked. leland didn't even get her food until we were leaving, and she never got her shake. i kept trying to offer her some of mine since we got the same kind but she didn't take any. not even while she was trying to eat! aww :( so yeah i drank up my whole shake even though i hardly drank any of it until we were almost leaving and then i stole the glass cause i'm a bad christian and i'm going to hell, haha no that's not really true but i did steal the glass. then i stayed up with another group of people i didn't know and i played catch phrase with them, it was cool. i was on the guys team at first but then i was on the girls team but we weren't keeping score so i was like "you guys... why are we on teams let's just all guess." so we did, yay i have authority! haha jk. that was fun, this one girl named amanda had the same shoes as me (REAL ONES not fake ones like roddy has!) i was like yay and another girl had on a powerpuff girls hoodie. it was cool. i went to bed at like 1.
12/30/02 --> Monday
okay now we're gonna have more details since i might actually remember them, i really don't remember most of sunday. rene talked, and i remember thinking that what he said was really cool. after that we went to a town called chamblee to do outreach at this place that was kinda like the projects but not as ghetto. it was cool cause the 2 people who are like in charge there are christians, and the people i got to go see were friends with one of them. i was with kerri (she's one of our advisors) and steve, and we talked to these 2 hispanic guys. or well, kerri did like 99% of the talking. i piped in a couple of spanish words when they didn't understand, and steve sat there and listened which in such a case is not a bad thing to do, as some people have never gone and witnessed before so it can be a learning experience. for me it was a learning experience, cause i finally got to see someone present the gospel to people (and they ACCEPTED CHRIST!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA INFINITE YAY!!!!!!); but it was also a big step for me cause i opened my mouth and words came out of it haha. it was funny cause i was sitting there mentally translating what kerri was saying just in case i needed to chime in at any time. it was fun times. after that, i got in a car with clarissa, angela, karen, and chris (it was so weird, it was like they really wanted ME to fill the extra seat... must have been God telling them to drag me along haha) and we definitely had fun. all of us were going to this international part of buford highway and i was expecting it to be this big deal thing but it was just a little shopping center, but it was still cool. we didn't eat there but we were the first people to notice the MY DUNG VIDEO STORE, yes that's right it was called my dung! i think it was vietnamese. we took pictures in front of it, and then chris actually went in and asked the guy what it meant and it means "something beautiful", either that or whatever it means is beautiful and the guy wouldn't tell him what it actually was haha. so then we went to mcdonalds (which angela pointed out is international! haha) and we mixed up our mcchicken sandwiches but it was ok, and we sat there talking about college and stuff forever when chris pointed out that we had all finished our food about 50 years ago and we can talk and drive at the same time. duh. so then we went back to the international place to find people, told them about my dung (haha), and they followed us back to the hotel. we took the scenic route haha. so after that a bunch of us went to centennial park which was pretty, and then me and the same people i was hanging out with from before, plus leaha, went to the CNN building. i didn't really wanna tour it but i wanted to go with the people so i did but the tour was sold out. so clarissa and chris got some coffee, and then we were like "let's tell everyone we got put on a special college edition of cnn with larry king" or something but nobody believed us anyway cause larry king is in DC. ooooops :) i took no part in this cause i thought it was lame haha. then we all hung out in the park for a while, and took like 214390217412 group pictures. it was lots of fun. then we went to dinner in the food court in the cnn building and then went back to the hotel. we went to another talk thing and then i went to loi's room cause she had PICTURES!!! yay so she let me have 2 of them cause i hadn't gotten them on my camera (they were from the sleepover when me, her, and amanda had slept in laura's room). i hung out there for a while and ate her food haha and then i went to the coffeehouse thing they were having. i stole amanda's hat that she didn't want and that was fun. i don't really remember what i did before i went to praise and worship but i think i just kinda wandered around and stuff. OH YEAH i stalked amanda and then we found nathan with his guitar and he kept playing songs i didn't know!!! so i yelled at him and he goes, "why don't i just play 'your' song" which is "for the moments i feel faint" by relient k, and i sang it and then these people interrupted!! i was like noooo, but then he picked up where we left off. (haha during the interruption i noticed this girl with a relient k shirt was sitting nearby. but when nathan started playing again she left. haha) i was kinda mad cause i messed up the high note for the first time, like, EVER, and i was like dude i sound like crap but nathan was like you sounded good, and i was thinking YAY but i just said "but i killed the high note" but it didn't matter. then we found out there was people playing upstairs so we went up there and nathan played with them and there ended up being a really big group and we got really loud and we were up until like 3!!! it was very cool. i'm surprised i didn't totally destroy my voice. oh, we saw greta again, she told us how she grabbed people's legs on the stairs and it scared them. she's psycho, this is why she is cool!
12/31/02 --> Tuesday
in spite of my not getting very much sleep, i was awake. one thing that happened which i think was on monday night but i forgot, was that a lot of stuff got stolen like $10,000 of equipment. that sucked a lot. rene mentioned it and how the people were like "well its just stuff", and how they treasured God more than their stuff, so yay. other than that, his talk was very funny, he talked about how his "romantic dinner" with his wife was interrupted by these people blowing their noses and talking about prostates, and this other couple's little kid playing with her utensils (honk, ahem, prostate, ding!) it was hilarious and then they went outside and this lady was talking about the different ways you could die and her cigarette smoke was like right in their faces. how romantic! NOT, but it was funny. we went to peachtree center for lunch, i went with a big group of people that did not include matt but i ended up running into him there. i went with him to dairy queen, where they messed up my order 3 times and i got my money back (they almost messed that up too!) and i was so glad matt was with me cause i was pissed off and he's probably the one person who would have just let me be pissed off. also i hadn't spent much time with him at the conference yet (except at mcdonalds and at the coffeehouse, but this time it was just me and him) so i was really happy about that. anyway then i finally went to that seminar and it was cool, leland almost got into a debate with the person doing the seminar, i was like dude its just a tv show haha it was funny though, she just busts out "dude you're wrong!" and they were both like no, THIS is what happened, it was really funny, the other people there were probably like "ok this girl's psycho". so anyway then i went to this thing about a summer project called keynote but i don't think i will be going on that. after that we went to mike and kelly's parents house where we ate yummy chicken and pork. it was raining the whole drive there and nathan was like "it would be fun to slide down the hill" yeah cause clarissa really wanted to rear end the car in front of us. i feel bad for her, she had no left signal so people didn't know when she was turning left. and then we had a little sharing time and then we prayed for mike and kelly and i cried a little cause they are leaving for siberia really really soon and i'll probably never see them again :( but i wish them the best of luck!!!! so yeah that was touching and all. then we left and chris fell asleep in the car and when he woke up he was psycho, he stuck his head out the window and he was like that's my doggie impression so i sang "how much is that doggie in the window" and there was a song on the radio and beth was singing along to it and she goes "shining in the light of your glory" and chris thought the sequence was hilarious because he's psycho haha. after that was the last meeting which i didn't get anything out of, and then some more sharing time. alan told us his testimony (he's always saying online how he wants to tell me it but now i finally know it) and that was very cool, and me and steve prayed and i cried a lot (leland - remember how i predicted i'd cry 3 times? i only cried once but i was right about when and part of why!) and we took yet ANOTHER group picture. and then there was the ten shekel shirt concert which i will put in the next section since it led up to the new year.
12/31/02 - 1/1/03 --> HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! (Wednesday)
i got ready and went down there but lacinda and tawnya were having shirt dilemmas so they took longer, but then i decided to go back to the room to get money since they were selling 10ss stuff (i don't feel like typing the whole name 12349071 times) and i stayed there forever. we made leland wear makeup!!!! she wore this green eye shadow i had which matched her shirt, it looked perrrrty :) i was having hair tie dilemmas too but i fixed that. so then the "beautiful sexy masterpieces" of room 723 went down after like half an hour and we missed like 5 songs haha but it was cool. i hung out with leslie and her gang from her school for a while and then i finally found where all the tampa people were. at 11:55 we all prayed together and then at 11:59 we stopped so we could count down to the new year and it was way cool! when it was the new year we all hugged and it was very exciting, and then 10ss played 2 more songs. after that we had a dance party. nathan crowd surfed!!! hahaha, i have to say it was funny because i think a lot of people grabbed his butt. (nathan is such a pimp, i don't think he knows this, but its true!!!) then brendan crowd surfed too and he actually got carried somewhere whereas nathan kinda just stayed in one general area. it was a lot of fun at the dance party... i swing danced with nathan! haha, he was like "uh i'm just gonna stand here and watch" and i was like no, you're dancing. it was fun even though we were failures and plus i crashed into like 50 million people. oh i also hit my ankle on the stage thingie at some point (not while swing dancing, just in general) and it has a lovely bruise. then we did a limbo and i fell because i tripped over jon's foot but then later i really did fall. oh well :) beth took some lovely pictures, one of me pretending to be ghetto which i am going to destroy haha, and one of me dancing with nathan which i am so getting a copy of!!! haha i don't even have a crush on nathan anymore but that doesn't mean he isn't still hot! oh at some point i met the lead singer of 10ss and i was like dude im from danbury (they're from new haven which is like 45 minutes away) and that was cool. anyway so after the dance party we met this guy who was totally smashed, he wasn't like making a scene but he was like "happy f@#$ing new year! woo!" and we had to make sure he got back to his room (we = me, matt, jason, and roddy) and that didn't work cause he didn't have a key so then he saw some dude and they went off on their merry way. it was funny, i heard him go "hey drunk girl are you on this floor?" lol. then the 4 of us were like yeah uhhh we don't know what to do and i was like we should pray for him and they all thought this was a great idea so we did and i did the talking, i mean this is a big step for me here, be happy for me dangit!!! haha i prayed for safety for the dude and that hey maybe someone will share Christ with him (when he's sober of course). haha it was so funny, asif was all paranoid he was like "don't witness to a drunk guy!" i was just like um yah wasn't planning on it. so then after that whole thing happened me, matt, beth, and leland bought foodage/drinkage and went back upstairs. leland went to bed and i took a shower and then i went back down where they were doing praise and worship but we were too tired to sing so the guy who was doing it (actually it was all tampa people except one person) sang a couple original songs. then the final group of us who stayed up the longest was me, nathan, angela, tawnya, lacinda, chris, and this guy from miami. we were all up talking until 6, oh yeah and i played nathan's guitar - which is much easier to play than mine except he has steel strings and they hurt. then nathan had to go get his plane cause he was flying to pittsburgh to see his girlfriend (ooh la la) and so he left and everyone but me went to bed. i did NOTHING for like 2 hours, or actually i packed and looked for people, i talked to this girl kristie from tampa and she was like the only tampa person i hadn't talked to yet so i was glad to talk to her. then went to angela's room and said goodbye to her, and i did some more nothing until 8 and i went to matt's room and roddy and jon answered, and i made them wake matt up. hehe he was funny he was like "don't go!" and hugged me and pretended to fall back asleep on me. awww. then i hugged them all goodbye and went back to my room to get all my stuff. i wanted to wake leland up but i was afraid she'd get mad, but she was kinda awake anyway so i said bye to her and attempted to hug her because she was still laying down but i like squashed her. she rambled about snow haha. then i left and i was so about to fall asleep on the marta (the words on the map in front of me were like moving) but i didn't! YAY! so then i got on my plane and that's the end of acc '02.
it's also the end of this absolutely LONG entry!!!!!
P.S. my current music --> i forget the name of the song, but it's that one that goes "i'm madly in love with you" a lot of times. jon said that the line i actually put in the current music section should be our motto this year and i SO agree. God bless y'all! (haha i had a southern accent from being in GA for 5 days, it was funny.) ok it's really the end now, i have to go get rid of MY DUNG!!!

NOT, but it was funny. we went to peachtree center for lunch, i went with a big group of people that did not include matt but i ended up running into him there. i went with him to dairy queen, where they messed up my order 3 times and i got my money back (they almost messed that up too!) and i was so glad matt was with me cause i was pissed off and he's probably the one person who would have just let me be pissed off. also i hadn't spent much time with him at the conference yet (except at mcdonalds and at the coffeehouse, but this time it was just me and him) so i was really happy about that. anyway then i finally went to that seminar and it was cool, leland almost got into a debate with the person doing the seminar, i was like dude its just a tv show haha it was funny though, she just busts out "dude you're wrong!" and they were both like no, THIS is what happened, it was really funny, the other people there were probably like "ok this girl's psycho". so anyway then i went to this thing about a summer project called keynote but i don't think i will be going on that. after that we went to mike and kelly's parents house where we ate yummy chicken and pork. it was raining the whole drive there and nathan was like "it would be fun to slide down the hill" yeah cause clarissa really wanted to rear end the car in front of us. i feel bad for her, she had no left signal so people didn't know when she was turning left. and then we had a little sharing time and then we prayed for mike and kelly and i cried a little cause they are leaving for siberia really really soon and i'll probably never see them again :( but i wish them the best of luck!!!! so yeah that was touching and all. then we left and chris fell asleep in the car and when he woke up he was psycho, he stuck his head out the window and he was like that's my doggie impression so i sang "how much is that doggie in the window" and there was a song on the radio and beth was singing along to it and she goes "shining in the light of your glory" and chris thought the sequence was hilarious because he's psycho haha. after that was the last meeting which i didn't get anything out of, and then some more sharing time. alan told us his testimony (he's always saying online how he wants to tell me it but now i finally know it) and that was very cool, and me and steve prayed and i cried a lot (leland - remember how i predicted i'd cry 3 times? i only cried once but i was right about when and part of why!) and we took yet ANOTHER group picture. and then there was the ten shekel shirt concert which i will put in the next section since it led up to the new year.
12/31/02 - 1/1/03 --> HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! (Wednesday)
i got ready and went down there but lacinda and tawnya were having shirt dilemmas so they took longer, but then i decided to go back to the room to get money since they were selling 10ss stuff (i don't feel like typing the whole name 12349071 times) and i stayed there forever. we made leland wear makeup!!!! she wore this green eye shadow i had which matched her shirt, it looked perrrrty :) i was having hair tie dilemmas too but i fixed that. so then the "beautiful sexy masterpieces" of room 723 went down after like half an hour and we missed like 5 songs haha but it was cool. i hung out with leslie and her gang from her school for a while and then i finally found where all the tampa people were. at 11:55 we all prayed together and then at 11:59 we stopped so we could count down to the new year and it was way cool! when it was the new year we all hugged and it was very exciting, and then 10ss played 2 more songs. after that we had a dance party. nathan crowd surfed!!! hahaha, i have to say it was funny because i think a lot of people grabbed his butt. (nathan is such a pimp, i don't think he knows this, but its true!!!) then brendan crowd surfed too and he actually got carried somewhere whereas nathan kinda just stayed in one general area. it was a lot of fun at the dance party... i swing danced with nathan! haha, he was like "uh i'm just gonna stand here and watch" and i was like no, you're dancing. it was fun even though we were failures and plus i crashed into like 50 million people. oh i also hit my ankle on the stage thingie at some point (not while swing dancing, just in general) and it has a lovely bruise. then we did a limbo and i fell because i tripped over jon's foot but then later i really did fall. oh well :) beth took some lovely pictures, one of me pretending to be ghetto which i am going to destroy haha, and one of me dancing with nathan which i am so getting a copy of!!! haha i don't even have a crush on nathan anymore but that doesn't mean he isn't still hot! oh at some point i met the lead singer of 10ss and i was like dude im from danbury (they're from new haven which is like 45 minutes away) and that was cool. anyway so after the dance party we met this guy who was totally smashed, he wasn't like making a scene but he was like "happy f@#$ing new year! woo!" and we had to make sure he got back to his room (we = me, matt, jason, and roddy) and that didn't work cause he didn't have a key so then he saw some dude and they went off on their merry way. it was funny, i heard him go "hey drunk girl are you on this floor?" lol. then the 4 of us were like yeah uhhh we don't know what to do and i was like we should pray for him and they all thought this was a great idea so we did and i did the talking, i mean this is a big step for me here, be happy for me dangit!!! haha i prayed for safety for the dude and that hey maybe someone will share Christ with him (when he's sober of course). haha it was so funny, asif was all paranoid he was like "don't witness to a drunk guy!" i was just like um yah wasn't planning on it. so then after that whole thing happened me, matt, beth, and leland bought foodage/drinkage and went back upstairs. leland went to bed and i took a shower and then i went back down where they were doing praise and worship but we were too tired to sing so the guy who was doing it (actually it was all tampa people except one person) sang a couple original songs. then the final group of us who stayed up the longest was me, nathan, angela, tawnya, lacinda, chris, and this guy from miami. we were all up talking until 6, oh yeah and i played nathan's guitar - which is much easier to play than mine except he has steel strings and they hurt. then nathan had to go get his plane cause he was flying to pittsburgh to see his girlfriend (ooh la la) and so he left and everyone but me went to bed. i did NOTHING for like 2 hours, or actually i packed and looked for people, i talked to this girl kristie from tampa and she was like the only tampa person i hadn't talked to yet so i was glad to talk to her. then went to angela's room and said goodbye to her, and i did some more nothing until 8 and i went to matt's room and roddy and jon answered, and i made them wake matt up. hehe he was funny he was like "don't go!" and hugged me and pretended to fall back asleep on me. awww. then i hugged them all goodbye and went back to my room to get all my stuff. i wanted to wake leland up but i was afraid she'd get mad, but she was kinda awake anyway so i said bye to her and attempted to hug her because she was still laying down but i like squashed her. she rambled about snow haha. then i left and i was so about to fall asleep on the marta (the words on the map in front of me were like moving) but i didn't! YAY! so then i got on my plane and that's the end of acc '02.
it's also the end of this absolutely LONG entry!!!!!
P.S. my current music --> i forget the name of the song, but it's that one that goes "i'm madly in love with you" a lot of times. jon said that the line i actually put in the current music section should be our motto this year and i SO agree. God bless y'all! (haha i had a southern accent from being in GA for 5 days, it was funny.) ok it's really the end now, i have to go get rid of MY DUNG!!!
