I collect the fortunes I get from fortune cookies and tape them up on the side of the printer desk at work. The very first one I got when I moved to the new building said "An unexpected event will soon bring you fortune" or something to that effect. Something about unexpected and fortune, for sure. I knew when our performance reviews came I'd be getting a raise, so that disproves the "unexpected" portion of the fortune. (Side note: I did, in fact, get a 2.5% raise - which is less than I got last year, but we obviously have less money than we did last year so w00t.) So where does my unexpected fortune come from? Turns out that on the bottoms of the EOB's I get from time to time, but never pay attention to, are reimbursement checks. As in, money. For me. Um, hurr duur! I've found what so far amounts to $68.62 worth of these checks... WORD. And they are good for 180 days! Traci is going to the bank on Monday fo rizzle.
