MOOOOOOvies
Dec. 6th, 2003 10:53 amlast night leah went to blockbuster and rented 2 movies. then james called and said we should watch this other movie, so we went back to get it. and i figured while i was there i may as well rent something. so between the 3 of us we rented 5 movies (that includes the 2 leah had rented before... and technically james didn't really rent a movie but he did pay for one of them.)
so then all of us brevard 314 girls (plus james... i think he's like our honorary roommate at this point haha) watched this movie called "whale rider" which having never heard of it, i thought was going to be like a surfing movie or something... yeah definitely NOT a surfing movie. it was a really sad movie actually although it had a happy ending i guess. at the beginning of it i was falling asleep so i was like "this movie is about a girl who looks like a boy and tells people not to smoke" lol. it was a good movie though. i am surprised i didn't cry. oh, leah thought that caryn said something about "the whales screwed her" hahaha
then we decided to watch bubble boy. leah didn't watch it though. i don't think cheryl and caryn were going to either, but they got sucked in. and then jay came over (he is caryn's friend, or boyfriend, or friend with benefits, or something like that... i really don't know... lol) and he ended up watching the movie too haha. everyone seemed to like it, i mean there are some really stupid parts that don't need to be in the movie but come on its a funny movie! and hello, jake gyllenhaal... :) oh and that movie has the 2 best lines ever: "have you ever been karmically bitch-slapped by a six-armed goddess?" and "i'd rather spend one minute holding you, than a lifetime knowing i never could" (ok everyone 1, 2, 3... "AWWWWW!") good stuff.
ok so one of my roommates who i will protect the identity of is afraid of cows. there was this part in whale rider where one of the whales had skin coloring such as that of a cow... you know the black and white splotchy blob things haha. and then in bubble boy they like run over a cow... she was like YEAH good job there!!! lol.
(in case anyone wanted to know... the other movies that were rented were hulk, charlies angels 2, and army of darkness)
it was so funny because when we were at blockbuster this pirate lady was like entertaining (and most likely scaring the crap out of) the kids... she was cool though, she told me that army of darkness was in the horror section, and agreed with me that it should be in the comedy section instead! (if you've seen it, you understand.) and she tried to get james to buy spongebob barbie (instead of a mary kate and ashley doll!!!!! ugh, boys!!!)
so a good time was had by all. i am off to big lots and walmart now (hence my mood haha).
